As an indication of how much of a gap there can be between the political junkies and party activists on the one hand and the masses of voters on the other, majorities in both parties don't see the need for more debates. According to the Fox News Poll 58% of Democratic primary voters think that the 6 scheduled debates are about right , with 25% thinking it's too many, and only 14% thinking it is too few.
On the Republican side 50% of the Republican primary voters think that 9 scheduled debates are about right, with 41% thinking it is too many, and only 7% saying there are too few.
Other interesting findings include 60% of Republican primary voters believing that Republicans in Congress have NOT done enough to block Pres Obama's agenda. Of those 38% think the Repubs would rather fight each other, 28% think they really do not want to block his agenda, and 13% think they aren't smart enough to do so. That last one really made me chuckle
Updated to add: 62% worry that scandals would have a serious effect on Clinton's administration if elected, and 58% think she is lying about her emails. 51% of all voters fell betrayed by politicians from their political parties
