As is usual this time of year, we look back over our summer and remember the good times and the bad, the laughs (we had a few), the tears (more often than not), and the Republican presidential candidates.
Who won the summer? We all know it was The Donald, He of The Hair, The Big Kahuna, Trumplestiltskin hiimself.
Raise your hand if you're sick of hearing about the latest stupid thing Donald Trump said, and let's move on from Trump and bathe our faces in the tears of the failed candidate, Scott Walker.
So why was Walker the biggest loser of the summer? According to several voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, he's an empty suit, a paper tiger, a wave upon the shore, a clown...wait, I'm getting off track here. Back to Walker:
With all the new users joining Daily Kos this election season, you may have missed our great Wisconsin bloggers like Puddytat, Jake formerly of the LP, scribeboy, WI Budget Project, ruleoflaw, MorrellWI1983 and so many others keeping us up to date on Scott Walker (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Koch brothers), governor of Wisconsin.
So what kind of an impression is Walker making among the social conservatives of Iowa?
He can't seem to find his way on any given issue with a handheld GPS. He's been on all three sides of every two-sided issue. For the last two months hasn't made a single policy pronouncement that he or his staff hasn't had to clarify or clear up within two hours. When you're reduced to saying 'yeah' doesn't mean 'yes,' you're in trouble.
Authenticity matters in Iowa. Big time. In fact, it's the only thing that matters. Scott Walker advocated building a wall between the U.S. and Canada. How do you NOT lose the summer with a statement like that?
New Hampshire Republicans were similarly unimpressed:
He has alienated donors with his pandering to the base of the party. He is woefully unprepared in interviews. He has cemented his reputation as a shameless flip-flopper, and worst of all he has raised questions about if he is actually smart enough to run for president.
Forgettable in the debate, mind-numbing acrobatic answers to issues of the day — he has become not ready for prime time.

So kudos to all our great Wisconsin bloggers (who knew about all this long before Politico), this one's for you. Doesn't look like Walker is going to be president!
