Here we go again, apparently Jeff didn’t learn anything from that whole “she said I’m not qualified” episode when they based an attack on a made up quotation before. Now he did it to Barbara Boxer, claiming she said she was “in fear of her life”, but really wasn’t, so she’s lying. He made up the quote!
Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, said Tuesday he doesn’t think Barbara Boxer is telling the whole truth on what went down in Nevada.
On CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, Weaver told host John Berman that he doubted the California senator's version of events during the 2016 Nevada Democratic State Convention on May 14, because of a video that surfaced from the convention. Weaver said it shows Boxer was definitely not in fear of the crowd.
“I don't want to see Sen. Barbara Boxer walking off the stage claiming she's in fear of her life while she's contemptuously blowing kisses at Sanders supporters,” Weaver said to Berman. “No, absolutely not.”
...When Berman asked Weaver if he thought Boxer was lying, Weaver replied, “I think if you watch the online video, it seems incongruous if somebody was in fear for their life while they're blowing kisses at that opponents. Yes, I think that’s incongruous.”
Here is what she actually said. Jeff Weaver lied not her. She feared for her safety not for her life:
Earlier Wednesday, California's other Democratic senator, Barbara Boxer, said Sanders supporters should attempt "to change the primary process, but not to go out there and throw chairs and to put people's lives in danger because the democratic process as put forward and ratified by the two parties is being carried out."
Boxer said she felt threatened after outbursts and threats at the Nevada Democratic Convention from supporters of Sanders over the weekend.
"I feared for my safety and I had a lot of security around me," she told CNN's Kate Bolduan on At This Hour. "I've never had anything like this happen."
..."It was a scary situation," said Boxer, a Clinton supporter. "It was frightening. I was on the stage. People were six feet away from me. If I didn't have a lot of security, I don't know what would have happened."
So you can take what Sen Boxer said and quote it, or you can twist it to build a straw man argument. At this point, I think we can safely say that Jeff Weaver has never met a straw man that he didn’t like. Now it might be easy to understand why Jeff lost track of all the women being threatened in Nevada:
After Sanders supporters thought the Nevada Democratic Convention was being shut down prematurely, shouting ensued and there were reports of chairs being thrown. The phone number and address of the chairwoman of the Nevada Democratic Party, Roberta Lange, was posted on social media -- prompting a flood of more than 1,000 calls, angry voicemails, text messages and even death threats.
Roberta Lange said her life was threatened, not Barbara Boxer. Two different women. Got it Jeff?
