Donald Trump’s comments about his pending case regarding Trump University are a disgrace that should disqualify him from any elected position. Yet so far, according to the media, it’s just another way in which that rascal Trump hasn’t “pivoted” to being presidential. Here is NPR’s Fox-Embed Mara Liasson on Trump:
Just when you think he's going to be magnanimous in victory or make that much promised presidential pivot, he doesn't. There he was in San Diego railing against the Mexican Judge who is hearing the case against Trump University. In Albuquerque, he gratuitously insulted Susana Martinez who's the governor of New Mexico, the only female Hispanic governor in United States history.
No, Mara. He is not a Mexican Judge — He was born in Indiana. Liasson’s repetition of Trump’s lie is a disgrace, as is NPR’s failure to correct it by the host or by a correction to the story, which still states that he is a Mexican Judge.
Trump’s terrible comments are not even the main focus of the story, which is titled Trump Becomes Presumptive Nominee; Clinton Faces Federal Charges Over Emails.
The story begins with the host, Rachel Martin, saying as fact that the IG report was “scathing” and Liasson simply speculating about “federal charges” and saying even if she is not indicted, “the Justice Department and the FBI explain why they didn't and explain why it was unanimous.”
Look. We all know that Liasson is a Fox shill who will nonetheless remain on NPR unless she somehow Juan Williams herself. But this whole piece is beyond the pale.
Shame.
