My Talquin Electric Co-op — thanks. All y'all in those bucket trucks from places elsewhere — cool. Ya got it done!
Ahoy Mateys!
My power came on about 20 minutes ago. The cover image is from the Talquin website for outages. Red is worst, mostly all homes. In my area, a few businesses along US-90 were open plus the truck stops at I-10. 1000s of homes out.
I didn't expect service back till Monday, maybe Tuesday.
This afternoon, my road home — needed experienced lineman.
Having it come back on Just as another daily hard rain popped up. Way cool!
Being curious about the path of Hermine, I found this via NYTimes.
Hermine landfall thru the lowest point of Apalachee Bay & hammering lowland shores east. I'm just west of US-27 about 30 miles from the eye.
St Marks NWR is the light green in the center of the bay. There's also National Forest to the west and other public lands.
Slow motion disaster.
This is across the street from PH at her house in town. Pine had been leaning, blew into another leaning pine that got propped by the spreading Live Oaks. There are 100s of these mature Loblolly pines across the city.
Hey… Just posting cause I can. Yeah!!!
