Turns out, Ted Cruz may have a Birther problem after all.
Not one regarding eligibility (who gives a damn about that anyway?), but one of convincing enough conservative Republicans that a vote for him is not a vindication of Barack Obama and the eight years of Birther Bullshit the GOP flung at him.
Kind of hard to turn off eight years of innuendo, propaganda, “where’s-the-birth-certificate” racist crap when you need to; especially when talking to the bottom feeders of the GOP.
So now Cruz, the conservative savior and GOP last hope to stop The Donald is finding himself in trouble.
To recap:
This was Cruz’s position in Iowa in December:
Then The Donald played the Birther Card:
LOWELL, Mass. — Donald Trump said in an interview that rival Ted Cruz’s Canadian birthplace was a “very precarious” issue that could make the senator from Texas vulnerable if he became the Republican presidential nominee.
“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump said when asked about the topic. “It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

This is Cruz’s position now:
Yeah, it seemed like a good idea at the time, till it came round to bite you in the ass, didn’t it.
It would be a beautiful example of Karmic justice to see an asshat like Trump win the GOP nomination because of a stupid, racist ploy that fired up the worst elements in the Republican party for so many years.
Oh look! A petard; and what is that hoisted up on it?
