When one goes to berniesanders.com and looks at Bernies plan to create jobs, his actual proposals barely fill one page. Theres a bunch of quotes, but really of the sketchiest of outlines. I think the meta issue is that Sanders has never been concerned with this level of detail required at this level, so it has to be extracted from him kicking and screaming in the context of the a campaign, while Clinton has always been concerned with this level of detail, to the point where many people think it’s just too much.
I don’t understand why people who support him aren’t obsessed with seeing the details too. For the mountains that were moved to pass the PPACA, Sanders promising to move a larger mountain — faster and cheaper — is something all of us should want to see.
The fact that Sanders says outright his jobs plan will create 13 million jobs is something we should also want to see. Recall we were excited to be talking about the issues? This is an issue I want to talk about now.
He wants to fundamentally change the way jobs are created in the country, for people who don’t trust any politician, he should be asked for details.
It is kind of strange that there are no details of the plan nor of how it will be paid for, since this is one of his signature issues. When I was trying to decide between Sanders and Clinton, I kept being told that he wanted to create 13 million jobs (which would be my first choice also). But when I went to his website, there was almost nothing there. I’d really like to know what his plan is. And this is all there is, inquiring minds want to know.
