Pop quiz! Who said this?
"A con artist is about to take over the Republican party and the conservative movement, and we have to put a stop to it.”
And how about this?
“I don’t want us to have a president that would constantly have to be explained to our kids, ‘Look, I know that is what the president did, but you shouldn’t do that.' I don’t want that.”
And how about this from just a few days ago?
“Donald's comments were vulgar, egregious & impossible to justify. No one should ever talk about any woman in those terms, even in private.”
Who said these words? Hillary Clinton? Tim Kaine? President Obama? Nope.
It was none other than Senator Marco Rubio, who endorsed Donald Trump after being humiliated by him in the primary. And today...amazingly...Rubio has reiterated his support!
There are many, many reasons why Florida should deny Marco a second term. His stances on issues like climate change and abortion rights are far out of the mainstream. He doesn't enjoy being in the senate and basically admits that it's holding pattern until his next run for the presidency. And he continues to support the Cuban embargo. But the biggest reason why he could lose is because he's a craven politician who continues to stand with a racist candidate who boasts about sexual assault.
At today's rally in Miami with Hillary Clinton and Al Gore, Rubio's Democratic opponent delivered a line that could resonate with swing voters.
And he also just released this concise statement:
So, can Murphy do it? If last week's Florida poll from NBC/WSJ is correct, the answer is yes! In it, Clinton leads Trump by three points while Rubio leads Murphy by just two. And this poll was taken before the Billy Bush tape, the second debate, and today's statement from Marco. It should be noted that not all the polls have it this close in the senate race, but if independents continue to flock from Trump and Clinton wins Florida solidly, I believe Murphy can definitely squeak it out.
There are a lot of important senate races to keep an eye on, but aside from Donald Trump, there's no one I'd like to see defeated this year more than Marco Rubio. So let's defeat them both!
