GOPasaur all around slime Darryl Issa has been the richest member of Congress for two years running. We, the American public, really don’t need to subsidize him with a paycheck anymore, especially not if all we’re going to get is partisan witch hunt investigations, and sleazy smear campaigns. The good news is that we don’t have to! We can vote the bum out.
It’s starting to look that this may be the way it’s going. The Cook Political Report has moved the Issa race from “Leans Republican” to “Toss Up”, and Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball has moved the race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican”. A Google search of “Doug Applegate News” shows increasing local media interest in and coverage of this race, and the polls are tight. And don’t forget, even though Issa spent more than $600,000 in the “jungle primary”, he only bested Applegate 51-45. Not exactly a powerful showing for an eight term incumbent.
The race has gotten nasty, as they usually do when Republicans are starting to feel the heat. Applegate has hit Issa on profiting from his time in Congress, and for putting party above country for continuing to support Trump. Good hard hitting stuff. Issa’s response? A mailer accusing Applegate of threatening and harassing his ex-wife during their divorce and custody battle. Way to take the high road there. Loser.
