Oh, Darrell, you're killing us over here! After conducting literally hundreds of useless, partisan-motivated hearings and inquiries targeting the Obama administration, California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa is now desperate to associate himself with none other than—wait for it—the president! That's what happens when your political life is passing before your very eyes and the guy you've endorsed—ol' grabby hands Trump—has the most pathetic favorability ratings of any presidential candidate in recent memory. Meanwhile, Obama? Yeah, 54 percent. Laura Barron-Lopez writes:
Issa’s confidence is beginning to wane. While he’s refused to revoke his endorsement of Trump, he is evidently anxious about being associated with him. New mailers sent out by his campaign showcase Issa’s alliance with Obama to pass legislation that established a bill of rights for survivors of sexual assault.
"Alliance"? LOL. C'mon, Issa. You must think your constituents are complete low-information morons. The mailer features a huge picture of Obama with a tiny inset of Issa. It’s almost like Issa’s running for Obama’s third term. He even lauds the president's fine work:
Can you pitch in $3 to give Darrell Issa the boot and help turn the House blue?
Frustrated you don't live in a swing state? No matter where you live, MoveOn has a great way for you to get involved where it matters most. Check it out!
"I am very pleased that President Obama has signed into law the Survivors' Bill of Rights—legislation I co-sponsored to protect the victims of sexual assault."
Translation: “I AM DESPERATE.” Most prognosticators (including Daily Kos) have moved CA-49 from "Likely Republican" to "Lean Republican" and some have even pushed it into the "Toss Up" category. But deep pockets Issa, with $3.7 million cash on hand, still has the cash advantage over DK endorsee Doug Applegate, who has $135,563 on hand. The DCCC pumped $2.1 million into the race this month, but let’s help push Applegate over the top.
