When you're running to unseat one of the most vulnerable GOP incumbents in Congress, there's nothing quite like picking up the endorsement of the highest office holder in the land—President Obama. Score one for California Democrat and Daily Kos endorsee Bryan Caforio, who's currently in a dog fight with GOP Rep. Steve Knight for a Los Angeles County congressional seat.
About $2 million in outside money has come in to influence the race on both sides.
In a campaign ad, Obama says:
“I’m with Bryan because he’ll take on the big banks, just like he did as a consumer attorney. He’ll fight Republican efforts to privatize Social Security, he'll keep Planned Parenthood funded and protect women’s health, and pass equal pay for equal work.”
Did we mention that Obama's sitting at a comfortable mid-50s approval rating right now? Practically everyone wants to be besties with him, but it's Caforio who got his actual imprimatur. Not only has Steve Knight called Social Security absolutely "a bad idea," he's a forced-birther who makes no exceptions for the life of a mother, rape, or incest.

Will you pitch in $3 to help elect Bryan Caforio and turn the House blue?
