Tuesday evening, Oct 25th, was the 3rd and final debate between Joe Pakootas and McMorris Rodgers in Walla Walla.

Massive showing in Walla Walla! Thanks to the generous support I was shown tonight by so many individuals. As I said in my closing speech, I am the embodiment of the American dream: a minority that came out of poverty, through foster care, into a minimum wage job, turned CEO and now Congressional Candidate. The incredible support I was shown tonight, whether through each handshake, Pakootas sticker or shirt that was worn, or the uproar of applause when I took my seat, is humbling and encouraging. I never thought I would make it here, but it's all for the people that I'm fighting. I will stay true to that when I'm in Congress
Joe Pakootas was terrific- steady, knowledgeable, thoughtful and confident. I admit my prejudice, but, McMorris Rodgers lost her train of thought a number of times very obviously.
She prompted laughter from the audience-they seriously couldn’t help it- at 46:57. Responding to Joe’s remarks about Donald Trump, and with her thoughts going off track, she stopped herself and said-
The reason I am voting for him is he will be a disrupter,
it will not be status quo and Congress needs to do it’s job, no matter who is elected President.
As she continued to talk about Congress, and having left her original thoughts behind, she appeared visibly angry and her tone was lecturing. There were scattered boos that prompted the moderator to ask for silence. Her tone and her words were made even more absurd since she is a “leader” in the House and her party. McMorris Rodgers expresses, by implication, the R’s attitude toward President Obama- that he has usurped the power of the Congress. Ignoring entirely the fact that they have not been doing their job for a very long time.
The Minimum Wage
Asked about the minimum wage, she talked about her first jobs and how they taught her to show up to work on time and gave her work basic skills. Eliminate burdensome taxes. “Best anti- poverty program is a job.”
Filing your taxes on a postcard!! A must McMorris Rodgers tells us. It’ll be easy with 3 tax rates.
Climate Change
When asked directly whether she believed climate change was a real threat, she said we had to be “good stewards” and spoke about hydro-power and its importance here and being a renewable, clean energy source. Breathtaking that she totally ignores the cause of “diseased, bug infested forests” she talks about. McMorris Rodgers will not say that climate change is real.

Terrible awful terrible terrible- Thanks CMR for not telling the truth again!
These are just a few of the points raised in the debate and Joe was ready to address them and answered her misleading statements. And I believe the support that Joe had at this debate rattled and angered her. Something previous candidates have not been able to do, though she has the reputation for getting very irritated in public forums with actual constituents.
McMorris Rodgers again says she “smarter now” in her closing remarks and that she works “across the aisle. It’s an honor to represent us..”to be our voice in the people’s house,” she said stumbling through her closing remarks.
Joe got the opportunity to have the last words.

I am proud to support him. I think he is a tremendous candidate and would serve this district and the country very well indeed. For all those folks who think of Eastern Washington as just a right wing, red-necked, crazy place, watch some of Joe Pakootas and you’ll see something very different.
