Less than two weeks before the election, the Trump campaign is working to consolidate its support … among House Republicans.
“I know we are less than 11 days to the 2016 election. But it is imperative that we continue to drive Republican support for the top of the ticket,” wrote Scott Mason, the Trump campaign’s director of congressional affairs in the U.S. House, in an email to Republican offices in the lower chamber. [...]
“That means we need your direct, strong support for the Trump/Pence ticket,” Mason added. “Now is the time. No waffling, no week [sic] knees. Hillary Clinton has given us, and continues to give us — and the country — every reason on earth that she is not worthy of winning this election. We strongly urge you today to make a statement — take a stand — and step out for the Trump/Pence ticket.”
“Please cc me on any social media posts, tweets, releases, etc. We are anxious to share these with Mr. Trump. Thank you to those that have already done so,” concluded Mason. “We can win this thing. We need your help.”
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. “Please, elected representatives of our party. Please don’t back away from our disastrous nominee. Please publicly support him.” Only, you know, couched in stern, muscular tones.
Also: “Please cc me on any social media posts, tweets, releases, etc. We are anxious to share these with Mr. Trump.” Because we need to have something to show him to make him think we’re doing our jobs and to keep him from totally melting down into a seething mass of rage at his abandonment.
