The early voting numbers in Houston look fabulous. In Harris County (home to Houston) early voting is up 51% over 2012 early voting numbers for the same period of voting.
TX-07 in Houston and its suburbs is 31.5% Latino, 12.2% African American, 9.6% Asian, and 1.7% two or more races, for a combined total of 55% of the electorate.
The Republican incumbent, John Culberson, also only has $150,714 Cash on Hand as of October 15, 2016 and his campaign expenditure reports do not indicate he has done any media production or media spending since the primary, so he is not prepared to defend himself if a major final push was made here.
This is also the type of suburban district where Trump is having the hardest time and the Harris County Democratic Coordinated Campaign working jointly with the Democratic candidate for TX-07, James Cargas, has a strong effort to reach out to suburban women.
James Cargas also has a Spanish language radio ad running and the following English language TV ad focused on the historic flooding Houston has recently experienced and the incumbent Republican’s failure to help properly fund crucial federally funded flood prevention projects and other core infrastructure needs.
James Cargas is a former Clinton White House aide, former Democratic Congressional staffer, attorney licensed in four states, and the current energy counsel to Houston’s Mayor. Here is his website.
This looks like an excellent late breaking wave opportunity.
