Arizona resident George Lindell attended a Donald Trump rally in Phoenix over the weekend and he was seen on camera, directly in front of the press pen, turning to directly face the media and chanting “Jew-S-A!” He also shouted “You’re the enemy! You’re the ones working for the devil!”
You can see his repulsive chant in the video below. At the end of this short clip, he says “We’re run by the Jews.”
The video went viral on Twitter and George Lindell must have gotten quite a bit of backlash because he’s got a new story about what he was chanting, it was his Mexican accent. We all misheard him and it was his totally normal accent, because he spends so much time with Mexicans. Seriously. From Buzzfeed News:
“I’m around Mexican people all the time,” said Lindell, who has for years worked as a house painter in Phoenix. “I speak Spanish a lot. That’s just the way I say it.”
When probed even further, he dug even deeper:
Lindell said he is voting for Trump, who he thinks will stand up to banks and the Federal Reserve. Lindell said that he’s concerned banks act as a shadow government and have taken power away from the American people.
The idea that Jews control the Federal Reserve, and with it, have a conspiratorial power over society is a classic anti-Semitic myth, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
Sorry, George. Even Trump’s campaign manager KellyAnne Conway couldn’t spin your deplorable conduct:
“[The man’s] conduct is completely unacceptable and does not reflect our campaign or our candidate. Wow,” Kellyanne Conway said during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “That man’s conduct was deplorable. And had I been there, I would have asked security to remove him immediately.”
