Up front IANAL, but as I understand the Federal warrant process, to get a search warrant, the investigator (the FBI in this case) needs to show “probable cause” that a violation has occurred that requires the search warrant to investigate whether or not sufficient “probable cause” exists to proceed to an indictment.
Is this correct? If so, exactly what crime is being investigated? Is it the possibility that classified information may be in Huma Abedin’s emails? If so, what is the standard that allows a possibility to raise to “probable cause?” Because if simply receiving an email from <someone>@state.gov is sufficient, then there are a whole lot of people subject to being searched...
