BREAKING just before Noon — AMJoy said they have just learned that Mike Pence will NOT attend event with Paul Ryan today
Just ran into a key political reporter from a major national daily — someone I have known for a number of years. Was told that Martha Robey of Alabama is pulling her support for Trump. Was also told to expect a flood of similar actions today.
UPDATE as noted below, it was Jonathan Martin of NY Times. And more and more coming out in various ways against Trump
I have NOT been able to confirm, now confirmed and was not told it was off the record.
I would not be surprised.
As far as I know, the only elected Republican female to have so far pulled an endorsement of Trump & tell him to pull out is Barbara Comstock of Virginia. But she is in a very competitive reelection. Robey should be in a far safer seat. now including Kelly Ayotte, and by implication Shelley Moore Capito
We will see.
Sorry for how brief this, and its lack of detail.
Offered just for informational purposes.
UPDATE the reporter was Jonathan Martin of NY Times, and his twitter thread is now showing some of this
here are a few recent tweets, and note that so far not ALL of these people are disavowing — YET
and note he retweeted a tweet from another reporter referencing HUGH HEWITT
this one confirming what he told me:
another disendorsement
another non-disendorsement
And Hugh Hewitt, on AMJoy — quoting Hewitt as saying “more oppo coming”
MORE: and this from Bob Costa of Washington Post:
Carly Fiorina has called for Trump to drop out.
Kelly Ayotte has announced she will not vote for Trump — gee only a few days after she said he was a role model!! :
Apologies — am leaving this at 12;10 to go to a tutoring appointment.
1:55 back adding some more
