And what was your primary argument for why we should nominate your candidate? Electability.
How you people can even show your faces right now is beyond me.
You told us we needed to defeat this candidate:
And elect this candidate:
Genius.
Meanwhile, Bernie is now and has been for a long time the most popular politician in the country.
I know that many of you with egg on your face would like nothing more than to put this calamity behind us and unite in our opposition to Trump. But that’s not going to happen.
Not until we have an accountability moment.
Remember that? Accountability?
That’s when the people who were tragically, devastatingly wrong, and led our party and our country into a shithole, get what they fucking deserve.
And what they deserve, what you deserve, what everyone deserves who thought a campaign of fear and division would succeed, is to SYFPH.
Or not. Regardless, no one outside of this little Ostrich farm takes you seriously. The entire Democratic establishment is discredited now, and people are calling for their heads. That’s what needs to happen.
To those of you who think that the Democratic party is a vehicle for your hatred of the working class, white people, men, or any other cartoon image of deplorables that feed your hatred every day, your time is over.
Your politics of divisiveness has been poison to your own cause. We’re not going to eradicate racism with hatred of racists. Didn’t Martin Luther King Jr. teach you anything? Hatred breeds more hatred. The fight for social a racial justice must never waver. But it has to fought with love and compassion. Not vilification and rage.
But your brand of divisiveness has been poisonous to another cause as well --making it impossible for the only governing institution in the world capable of actually saving the world to win elections.
The Democratic party used to be the party of of the working class. But it has been taken over by people who actually loath it— who loath the unwashed, uneducated masses, the religious, the ignorant, the politically incorrect, people from Ivy league schools who conceal their own racism and bigotry to vilify others, and use it to elevate their own self-righteous, privileged sense of entitlement and power.
What hypocrisy. What arrogance. What stupidity.
Daily Kos used to be a viable conduit for people powered change. Now it’s just a another place on the internet that had to be debunked by Snopes.com, where facts and truth no longer matter, and where rational thought and critical analysis are subverted by ‘dog whistles’ and cartoon cutouts of ‘the others.’
I miss the old Daily Kos. We really had a good thing going. A real reality-based community, to a large degree. I still hold out hope that it can be brought back from this abyss of irrelevance that only the residents here can’t see.
But, as I said, it’s going to take an accountability moment for that to occur. It’s going to take self-reflection, redirection, and serious staff adjustments. And a lot of un-bannings.
