In my search for comfort and coherence in understanding the staggering events that this ugly election generated, and its Orwellian conclusion, I keep finding pieces that are too eloquent, too insightful not to share. As Morford's piece, which I previously posted, deconstructed the consequences with his characteristic dark humor, this one does so describing the loss of our national character. It’s mainly about the journalistic story of the election, journalism’s failure, and its way forward under journalist-hating Trump.
