The day after the election, I got up in the morning (not getting much sleep) and went downstairs to grab my morning cup of OJ. As I opened our new fridge, I recalled the conversation with my wife where she wanted the fridge made by Samsung, because they offered a charcoal black finish, and I said no — we are buying a Whirlpool and will have to go with stainless. They did not offer the black finish and I was not sending 3 grand to Korea when something just a good is designed and partially manufactured in the USA. Then, I turned off the exterior copper lights we just had installed around the exterior of our house. We ordered lights handmade in the USA as opposed to knock-offs from China — spending an extra couple grand to get made in the USA. After showering, I chose between one of my 10 suits — every single one made in America. Each one of these cost me 50%/100% more than the comparable line my store carried that were made in China. Next came my shoes. Other than sandals and sneakers, every dress and casual shoe that I own is made right here in the USA — every single one. Finally, I get in my car made right here in the USA by Chevrolet and drive to work. Now I am blessed to make a very good wage, and like many others in my office I can afford to drive a very nice car. As I pull into my parking spot in my Vette (made in Kentucky), I notice that I am the only one in our parking row with an American car. Plenty of others in my office spend the same on their cars — they are all driving German and Japanese cars. Unlike me, they have no idea where most of the products they purchase are made — and they don't care. There is also one other difference between us— they are all Trump supporters. Its time for them to make America great — I am done!
