Are you fired up and ready to go? Because this election’s not over. Democrat Senate candidate Foster Campbell is still in a run-off election in Louisiana. It’s our last, best shot at snatching the Senate from Republicans — and if Campbell wins, there’s a very clear scenario where the Democrats can reclaim the Senate now.
It happened the very last time that Republicans controlled the Presidency and both houses of Congress, in 2000 — and there’s already signs it could happen again. In 2000 one moderate Republican Senator refused to rubber-stamp everything George W. Bush was suggesting, and instead just switched sides — becoming a Democrat — single-handedly flipping control of the Senate. And there’s already signs that John McCain (as well as Rand Paul) aren’t going to rubber-stamp everything that Donald Trump wants, and Republican Susan Collins is also a likely target for “flipping”.
Campbell is a good man, and he’s already emerged as the #2 vote-getter in one of Louisiana’s crazy 24-candidate elections. (One of the candidates that Campbell beat was former KKK leader David Duke.) This last race could have real consequences, and I don’t know why every Democrat in America isn’t focused on it, hoping for a victory, and donating money to help Campbell win.
Instead of moping around or feeling helpless, let’s fight fight fight. We can make things better, but we have to do it together.
So are you fired up and ready to go?
