When I watched Lawrence O’Donnell’s show The Last Word on MSNBC last night, I was thrilled at his breaking news of the Targetmart/College of William & Mary poll of Florida Targetsmart Poll of Florida due to be released the next day. That poll of actual early voters + likely voters showed Hillary up 48-40 on Trump, 28% of Republican early voters. I thought for sure this would be mentioned in the following day’s news shows and news websites & blogs. Given that they actually identified and talked to early voters I thought it would at least be given some mention. However, there has been scant mention of the poll today. Nothing on the network morning shows or very little in the websites/blogs? As of this writing Nate Silver and Real Clear Politics does not even mention it or factor it in their averagaes? It does get mentioned in the MSNBC website but that is the only major site I see it.
Is this poll really that much of an outlier? Are we deluding ourselves with a “rosey" poll or is the mainstream media in denial, wanting to continue a horserace narrative?
