I published a diary yesterday focusing on the recount fundraising being spearheaded by Jill Stein. The intent is to force a recount in WI, PA and MI.
This diary is focusing on both the fundraising which is still on-going and also the volunteer aspect. A recount takes a lot of money and also requires a lot of volunteers to monitor and observe the recount.
The election integrity website is asking for volunteers for every county in all 3 states. To volunteer click on the appropriate link below.
Wisconsin
Pennsylvania
Michigan
Please consider volunteering your time in this recount/audit effort. I have reached out to Jill Stein to try and get more detail on what volunteer opportunities will be available but the links above states that once you add your name as a volunteer someone will get back to you and let you know what opportunities are available in the county or counties you volunteer for.
The total votes for Hillary vs Trump are really very close in these 3 battleground states. It would really be a mistake in my opinion not to push hard to force this recount. I don’t think any of us wants to find out 6 months from now that had we pushed for this recount in the first place we would have Hillary as our President instead of the orange fascist blob called Trump!!
Whether you think this will change anything or not we should support and push for this recount. At worst case this will give us more peace of mind that the vote tallies were not rigged in Trump’s favor. Bear in mind that as the Guardian noted:
In a joint statement issued last month, the office of the director of national intelligence and the Department for Homeland Security said they were “confident” that the theft of emails from the DNC and from Clinton’s campaign chair, John Podesta, which were published by WikiLeaks, was directed by the Russian government.

Results for Michigan are still in progress and too close to call. Total votes needed for Hillary to become the winner is 53,555 broken down as shown in the table above. So essentially if the recount uncovers any irregularities and extra votes were counted for Trump which should have gone to Hillary then the results could change.

We are well on our way to the goal of raising enough to demand recounts in these states. As can be seen from the table above, the goal for Wisconsin has been achieved and roughly 75% funds needed for PA. Once $4,500,000 has been reached in total donations, the fundraising will immediately start tracking funds required for Michigan.
At the very least we deserve to have the peace of mind knowing that the election in these 3 key states were fair and valid. But if there was any sort of election rigging or cheating we need to know. The best outcome of course would be if extra votes were counted for Trump which should have gone to Hillary.
Will the recount change the election results? Who knows, but I would argue that YES it is possible when you consider how close the vote totals were in these states.
I will try to keep the diary updated with total funds raised until the total required has been raised.
Please consider donating and if you live in one of these 3 states, please consider volunteering using the links provided.

$4,255,310.76 has now been raised toward the roughly $6,500,000 needed in total to fund the recount effort in all 3 states.
It should be noted that the funding page shows the goal is $4,500,000 but that is ONLY for the 2nd target which is PA. PA has the next closest filing deadline which is Monday the 28th. This goal does NOT reflect the total needed for the overall recount effort!
Once $4,500,000 in total donations has been reached, it will be updated to $6,500,000 to factor in the additional $2 M needed to fund the MI recount.
The details at the funding link explain how this works.

Target 2 for PA now reached! Total donations thus far:
$4,503,061.98
Expect the donations page to be updated any minute now to reflect a GOAL of $6,500,000 which will reflect the additional $2 M required to support the recount effort in MI!!

Total donations thus far: $4,520,391.49!
The donations page has been updated to reflect the new goal of $7,000,000 which will also cover the ~$2 M required to fund the recount in MI.
Previously I believed the final goal would be ~$6.5 M but the extra $500,000 is within the $6 — $7 M range that was mentioned on the donations page in the beginning.
