So I've thought about it, and here's the result: no, I am not "getting over it".
The American people did not vote for Donald Trump, we voted for Hillary Clinton by a margin going on two and a half million – scarcely a rounding error. Yes, I know we have the system we do, that does not mean you or I need to afford it legitimacy.
The Electoral College has now twice in my lifetime given the nod to the loser of a presidential election. In the first case, the country wrecked its finances, its reputation and the larger Middle East. The second iteration will be worse, already is worse. I refuse. This system must go, and if we have to bring the nation to a screeching halt, so be it. The fraud must end, because in a democracy, the majority governs.
Donald Trump is a racist, an Islamophobe and a misogynist. He is likely a homophobe and anti-Semite, or if not, certainly tolerates and empowers people in that vein. No. This cannot be borne. Too many will be hurt, too many will die if we remain in silent, obedient consent.
Donald Trump is a liar without shame, remorse or even self-awareness. He has already ushered in a "post-truth" era, another word for a Kingdom of Lies in which a free people cannot survive.
A Kingdom does not require a Constitution, and Donald Trump very much fancies himself king. That is why he laughs at our laws, refuses to bow before their binding power, brays with abandon about the crimes he will commit, domestic and foreign.
No. This cannot stand. None of it. Burn it down.
Like JFK said, "we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
Burn. It. Down. And get ready to fight, the enemy is upon us.
