Early voters shattered records in Clark County, Nevada today. The previous record for early voting turnout there was just over 48,000 on the final day of early voting from 2012.
Today, 57,174 people voted in Clark County. Here’s the breakdown which I got by simply subtracting today’s totals listed on the NV Sos website from the previous day’s numbers, which I have saved.:
Dems 26,597 (46.52%)
Reps 15,434 (27.00%)
Inds 15,143 (26.49%)
The margin we received over the Republicans was +11,163 with regard to in-person voting, and when you add the mail-in ballots, it’s 11,218. On the same day in 2012, our overall margin was about 9,631 on the final day of voting, so this is a nice increase.
As of now, our statewide margin is about 46,000. This will dip a little bit when a few of the rural counties fully report tomorrow. So the final margin for the early voting period should be about 45,000 I believe. In 2012, our margin was about 48,000 at this point. But I’m very happy with the numbers I’ve seen. I think our worst case scenario is that HRC wins Nevada by two. My own projection is that she wins it by 6.2% and Masto wins by 4%.
*Update*
Here is the partisan breakdown of all voters from the Cardenas supermarket last night in Las Vegas that was pictured in diaries on DailyKos and elsewhere:
1,904 people voted
Dems 1,258 (66.07%)
Reps 165 (8.67%)
Inds 481 (25.26%)
So it was a huge day for our side at the Cardenas Supermaket. Wow!
