I’ve been racking my brain with ways we can fight the Republican dominance on the national level. There’s the filibuster but I have no doubt they will nuke it. Other than that, what options do we have?
One that occurs to me is that every state with a Democratically controlled legislature needs to take a page from the Republican playbook and gerrymander the ever-living shit out of their districts. We can’t bring a knife to a gun fight and while I’d prefer to see gerrymandering scrapped, as long as the Republicans are doing it we have to as well (which would probably hasten bipartisan efforts to reform the redistricting process). Is that feasible? Are we already doing it and if not, why not?
What other ways do we have to fight the raft of right-wing legislation and the rubber-stamp that Donald Trump will be?
