Stocks plummet, Oakland erupts in protest, Vicente Fox says once again that he is not paying for a fucking wall, a black male Trump surrogate on CNN lies, first thing in the morning and says this is a mandate, when it's not and Hillary is probably going to win the popular vote. But she will be giving her concession speech in a few minutes.
I was thinking about what I should say this morning. I am so disappointed in the black vote and people that I know who made these protest votes and black males (and the black women mammybots who believe in everything their “kangs” say), who were posting tweeting and putting up videos all over social media, telling black people not to vote. Posting memes about how Hillary tweeted out that she sees black people as super predators, (even though she never mentioned race and Twitter didn’t even exist back then) and calling her every conceivable misogynistic name they could come up with, while, as per usual, offering no viable alternative for black survival. It reminds me of what Gil Scott Heron said in his poem, “Brother”, “We deal in too many externals brother. Always Afros, handshakes and Dashikis. Never can a man build a working structure for black capitalism”.
Just as I predicted they would, at the beginning of this campaign, I am pointing the finger at black males, who raged against Hillary and continue to, even after she conceded, due to their narrow nationalism, patriarchy pushing and ineptitude more than anything else. They will, however, be the first ones to complain about Trump's oppressive policies in the coming years and will seek refuge with black women, expect black women to march for them and vent about being stopped and frisked for no reason. I say to black women now, don't fall for it. The first thing out of your mouths should be "Did you vote for her"? Because this is another situation where their misogyny and complete disdain for the idea of women having power, has resulted in disaster for black people. So now our next First Lady, unlike Michelle who showed us the epitome of class and style, will be a white woman, who was an illegal alien who has porn pics all over the web and the misogynistic black male couldn't be happier about it.
That, combined with the white supremacy that is so deeply rooted in this country, showed that even though they don't trust him as a competent leader, they still voted for him. Even though he scares them, they still voted for him. Even though they know full well that he's a narcissistic idiot that has no idea how to govern and will put the entire planet at risk, they still voted for him. Because this is how deeply rooted white supremacy is. Which is so funny, because black women have been saying for years that they were experiencing racism in a variety of different scenarios in this country and white people and even some black people would say it's all in their heads, "Try looking at it differently", "We live in a post racial society", "We have a black president now so it can't be racism", "Black people are too over sensitive", "Everything isn't about race, "Why are you always talking about race all the time?" and on and on.
Yet that vote last night, proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, that white supremacy and racism is alive and well and was exactly what we have been saying it is. Very real and very prevalent. Trump tapped directly into it and won because he knows how his own people are. They can play that denial game all they want to with everyone else but he showed to the world exactly what these racist white folks here in America are about. There is no denying it now.
I woke up with my nerves on edge and a pit in my stomach and with another black male I know, texting me and telling me how terrible Hillary is and how Hillary was such a bad choice for black people. I made it clear to him that I don't want to even hear one word when Trump starts locking them up for no reason, rounding them up and shooting them down. I will be curled up on my sofa watching Scandal, because they brought this on themselves by dissuading the black vote. They worked tirelessly at stopping a woman who acknowledged implicit bias, incorporated criminal justice reform into her platform and who was going to develop national guidelines on the use of force by police, from being in the Oval. Now they have the “law and order” candidate who pals around with Giuliani and is floating his name as attorney general, as their president-elect.
It's really foggy outside this morning. I am going to chant and write and work on a plan of action and survival. I'm also renewing my passport. I suggest you all do the same. It's time for black women to look within and use their powers to manifest. There is no made up male god coming to save you. The Oppressive Black Patriarchy has made its position clear and so have the white supremacists and racists and misogynists. It's time to wake up and leave your patriarchal fantasy land and get things together for yourselves because at this point, you are all you have.
Watching Hillary speak now. We gave it our best shot and yes I am proud to say I was one of those Facebook and Twitter warriors for you and for women. Thank you for acknowledging that. The glass ceiling will be shattered. Full speed ahead. I wish you well.
I'm going to put on my "Me, Myself and I" song by Beyonce now and take a shower.
