This is what I shared with my Facebook family and friends tonight, the night after Donald Trump won the election.
Okay I haven't said anything yet about the President Elect. This might be a bit long, but it's how I feel. No need to comment if you want to argue. I have no fight in me right now. Just a terrible wave of sadness and concern, like millions of Americans do.
First of all, Mr. Keith Olbermann, (he had a great video asking women who were voting for Trump if they were bothered by multiple things he had done and said on the campaign trail), the answer is NO. Clearly a lot of, women were "not bothered" by anything Mr Trump said or did, no matter how mean, vulgar or plain unforgivable. Your video question was very good though.

Second ... I starting feeling depressed a couple of days ago. Some of you know I get overwhelming feelings …. premonitions. I've had them for years and years, and have been right more times than not. I told hubby the day before the election I didn't think Clinton would win. He assured me she would. I had a terrible dream the night before the election about the entire world (I'll spare you the details). But, moving on to election night, sure enough, Trump did win. I didn't cry or anything until after I started watching the Rachel Maddow show, who did a segment about the speech Kennedy gave Oct 22, 1962 (I was in the second grade) about the possible nuclear war we may have to enter (Cuban Missile Crisis). I have vivid memories of families being terrified, teachers at my school taking part of the day to go in the basement of the elementary school to prepare it for us, going to the bank after school where Mother worked and going to the lower floor until she finished her shift, etc. It was a tedious and trying time, even for kids. Our nation was in crisis mode and Kennedy was a level-headed man who handled things beautifully. We didn’t go to war.
I always thought Trump was a reckless man on foreign affairs, the way he spoke. I kept saying if that man is elected something bad will happen to our nation. I hope I'm totally wrong, but that feeling stays in my gut. What would Trump do in a nuclear type situation?. He was a loose cannon all during his campaign and that makes most of us fear him quire a bit, especially on foreign affairs
The little TV I watched today, I've seen the thousands of Trump protesters around the nation, heard about the University of Utah say they enough charges of fraud, etc. to impeach Trump ... and on it goes. However, I am just numb. I don't even care at this point. I do hope those that voted for him get "the change" they think they want and not something more sinister. I guess they are okay with:
- Healthcare as we know it will be gone and most people have NO idea how that will effect sick people. I used to sell health insurance and I can tell you, with nothing to replace a repeal with .... could literally KILL people. If you don't understand how, ask me, or my sister, who works with hospice patients.
- Women's rights ... ? Promises for those who obtain an abortion ... jail time for them or the doctor. "someone will have to pay" says Trump, even though it's legal. And women who want an abortion will always find a way, so why not keep it safe?
- Gay marriages dissolved, Trump promised. That's tearing so many families apart.
- Screwing with SS and Medicare.
- Mass deportations for those even raised here and have no place to return ... those are just some of the promises Trump made. That should make anyone fearful, unless they have no compassion for humanity.
So if tearing down our nation is what the majority of people wanted they may get just that. God help us all!
