Virginia Holds Special Elections Jan 10th 2017

We can steal some of Trump’s inauguration thunder by holding on to a blue seat and flipping a couple others blue in three upcoming special elections January 10^th. Look up your voter information and which districts you vote in here. Help spread the word and get the vote out so we can protect our local communities. Here is one of the seats up for grabs and the democratic candidate.

Ryant Washington – State Senate District 22 

This district goes all the way from Western Richmond area to Lynchburg, and includes Farmville, Appomattox, and Goochland.

Ryant Washington is currently the Virginia ABC Special Policy Advisor for Law Enforcement, where a colleague says of him, “He is incredibly smart, kind, and dedicated to his employees. He ‘gets it’ and would be a great asset to our state senate.”

Before that position, Washington served as Sherriff of Fluvanna County for 14 years. Kerry Murphy-Hammond was a Councilwoman for the Town of Columbia during this time and says of her experience of working with Washington, “…he truly is a good person who works hard.” She goes on to say, “Ryant has already proven his willingness to work for people in rural Virginia during his time as Fluvanna County Sheriff and on the Board of Directors for the Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce. He is uniquely qualified and knows, first hand, the challenges facing the 22^nd District.”
