The FBI has cut off nearly all communication for the four remaining militants at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge:
The FBI has blocked most of the remaining militants’ forms of communication with the outside world, the militants told OPB Sunday. OPB reached David Fry, one of the four occupiers left at the refuge, by cellphone Sunday morning. He said the FBI has disconnected most of their cellphones. He told OPB that only he can receive calls and none of them can make calls. He also told OPB that internet access was disconnected.
Over the weekend, the “Pacific Patriot Network” held an obnoxious rally in downtown Burns, a role rally that had them driving several laps around the city’s center, blaring their horns and screaming out the windows. In a video (seen below), militant organizer BJ Snoper (of the Pacific Patriot Network) says they were invited by people in the community, but judging the reactions of many residents, they were not welcome by all.
Brandon Curtiss (of the Idaho III%ers and PPN) and BJ Snoper (also of PPN) are demanding the resignations of nearly every government official in the Oregon county they have never lived in. Brandon Curtiss was part of the heavily armed crew that has been in Oregon since early January to “provide security” for Ammon Bundy. He was not arrested in last week’s roundup and he’s been careful not to spend a lot, if any, time at the refuge.
Brandon Curtiss and BJ Snoper are leading a rally outside the courthouse, which will immediately be followed by a community rally in support of Sheriff Dave Ward and Judge Steve Grasty, with many residents asking for the to leave their city right away so they can begin to work together again. Hopefully things will remain peaceful as the two groups meet at the courthouse. Some protesters who want the community to leave are already arriving:
And over at the Bureau of Land Management’s office outside of Burns, someone erected the Gadsen flag overnight:
Amanda Peacher says BLM employees showed up shortly after she took that photo, so it is safe to assume the flag has already been removed.
Meanwhile, one member of Ammon Bundy’s inner core was released over the weekend:
Shawna Cox will be fitted with an ankle monitor on Monday and is expected to return home to Utah, her husband said Sunday.
Don Cox said his wife was released late Friday night but remains in Portland. She and 10 other participants in the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon have been charged with conspiracy to impede federal officers from their official duties through use of force, intimidation or threats.
Cox's husband said he wasn't sure why she was released.
She’s reportedly being fit for a GPS-enabled ankle bracelet today and will head back to her home in Utah. Not long after her release, she did a defiant interview on periscope to insist that LaVoy Finicum had been murdered, although she did confirm that he was yelling “Why don’t you shoot me?!” in the deadly confrontation. She also confirmed LaVoy and others in the car were armed when they hit the roadblock.
See KATU’s vide of the PPN’s disruptive rally in the video below. Stay tuned for further updates on the rallies this afternoon in Oregon.
