I’m gonna make this short, because this “controversy” doesn’t deserve as much attention as I’ve already given it today.
This is the Twitter account of the Congressional Black Caucus. It is distinct from the Twitter account of CBCPAC. Keep an eye on @OfficialCBC today. If the Congressional Black Caucus as an entity has a disagreement or issue with its political arm’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton, or the media coverage thereof, I think it’s safe to assume that the body will post a message there distancing itself from the endorsement. So if we see such a message appear, then we’ll know that the way this story has been reported and understood is wrong.
If we never see such a message, I think we can assume that the Congressional Black Caucus as an entity has no significant problem with the endorsement and how it has been covered in the media, and that this is just yet another case of some of Bernie Sanders’s more enthusiastic supporters desperately attempting to blow smoke and mislead the American people about the relative support for the two Democratic candidates among people of color.
Keep your eyes peeled.
