Bernie a single-issue candidate? Really?
Perhaps if Clinton spent less time cloistered in (private) meetings with Wall Street lobbyists and more time paying attention to her opponent, she’d realize two important facts.
First, Bernie does policy. Lots of it. Don’t believe me? Then take some time to peruse the more than 6,000 pieces of legislation he’s sponsored during his tenure as Senator. And he does more than talk. He has a track record of implementing progressive policies. It’s a diverse and prolific set of accomplishments.
Second, if Clinton expanded her circle of constituents (or simply asked one of her many pollsters), she might discover that the economy is the number one concern for voters in 2016, or that two-thirds of Americans are dissatisfied with the way income and wealth are distributed in the U.S.
Discussing an issue deemed important to a large majority of Americans doesn’t make you a single-issue candidate. It just means you’re empathetic and informed. Voters tend to like that in a candidate, especially when it comes to indicators like “trust” and “cares about people like me.”
Anyone that willfully embraces the notion that Bernie Sanders is a “single-issue-candidate” should take a moment to learn about the many issues he champions:
