For the last few dates, many black pols and intellectuals have been vetting Bernie's weak record with African Americans. Well, Bernie has hit back with a MLK commercial and this amazing news from Politico:
"Back in 1988, I was mayor of a small city in America, the largest city in the state of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont, in a state that was virtually all white," Sanders told reporters here under the wing of his campaign plane. "In 1988, I endorsed Jesse Jackson to become president of the United States. There were very, very, very few white public officials at that point, but I thought what he was saying made sense, I had the courage to do that."
Consequently, I am so sorry for incorrectly stating Bernie’s long history of enhancing the quality of life for black people.
- In 1962, he went to a rally
- In 1988, he courageously endorsed a black man
- And in 2016, he said black 50 times
- Maybe 20 years from now, he’ll think of something else
Bernie is looking desperate.
