This video is a campaign commercial looking for a TV screen near you. And it will be made by The Donald, if it already hasn’t been made.
Trump will play this commercial all over the rust belt states. And he will hang NAFTA, CAFTA, normalized trade with China, and TPP all over Clinton. She will have no way of fighting it. Her husband created NAFTA where those Carrier jobs are going. She has regularly support trade agreements, and even started the TPP process. It was only last year that she came out against TPP and then only after a lot of pressure. And when it comes up for a vote in Congress, if she doesn’t actively campaign against it, she will be done for.
If you don’t think that Trump has a chance in the rust belt, you aren't from there. Those small towns have been struggling for 30 plus years. Trumps pseudo fascism will not matter to these people. They want jobs, and they want answers to get them.
Trump will be able to out flank Clinton on this, and for extra measure he will play up her ties to Wall St. and his “independence."
So which Obama states does he need to flip? OH, PA, NH, MI, IA, and WI. Or IL instead of one of the others. Not gonna happen you say?
That is not a bet I would like to take. There are two ways for this to be avoided.
The first is that Sanders becomes our nom. He cannot be outflanked by Trump on this issue.
The second is that Clinton will have to become more forceful on trade in general and TPP specifically. She could do this by twisting arms in Congress to vote against TPP but then there goes her attacks on Sanders as an Obama hater. She couldn’t do that before at least the end of March. There are too many states with Black voters who would not be as open to the Sanders is a Obama hater.
Frankly, I don’t think she has it in her to fight against TPP. I agree with the guy from the US Chamber who said she will find a way to support it after the election. That is a strong line of attack by Trump as well.
On this, Clinton’s flank is exposed and she has no way of shoring it up. Think about that when you are considering who is more electable.

Clinton and her supporters have a major problem that will feed into this whole scenario. It is over confidence. “No way Hillary could ever have done to her what Trump is doing to the rest of the GOP field” they say. There has been more than one candidate that has been done in by over confidence. Clinton is one of them (2008). It could happen in this primary as well, but even if it doesn’t, doesn’t mean it cannot happen in the general. Lose the arrogance or you will be very sad com Jan. 20, 2017
