It has been reported that the remains of Antonin Scalia will lie in repose in Washington, DC this friday! His funeral will be the very next day so this gives us only a single opportunity! So I am putting out this call for poetic justice:
If you are a gay couple who has recently been married legally in your state then this is your chance to celebrate your loving commitment to each other in front of the dreadful ogre that fought so hard to keep you apart. Go together to the Supreme Court, re-recite your vows and share a loving kiss and a commitment to marriage over his dead body.
Extra credit if you can snap a selfie of the kiss — with wedding rings held proudly aloft — and his casket in the background.
Is this in poor taste?
Yup.
Does it bother me?
Nope.

*sigh* It is amazing what a good, hot lunch can do for one’s sense of decency and compassion. I’ll leave the diary and the poll up but I no longer see the idea as hysterical as I did a few short hours ago. Good thing that I will not be in DC this Friday though because I’m liable to do something regrettable!
