I think writing this blog falls under the category of beating my head against a brick wall, but since I’ve always been a glutton for punishment, I’m giving it a go anyway. If I read it once last night here in Bernieville, I read it a thousand times; Hillary’s taken hundreds of thousands of dollars for giving speeches to Wall Street, which means she’s bought and paid for. Several kossacks have even posted that they know for a fact that she changed her vote(s) on financial issues because of it. Of course it goes without saying that Bernie has never received a dime for speaking to Wall Street (if only it would go without saying) so he’s beholden to no one.
I hate to break it to you, but the reason Bernie’s never taken a dime for speaking to Wall Street or any other group or organization is that he can’t, at least not without going to prison. You see he’s been in office for the past 25 years and it’s against the law for him to accept money from special interest groups for anything, including giving speeches. It was the same for Hillary Clinton, which is why she didn’t take a dime for even speaking to her cat until she was no longer a senator or secretary of state.
Now I know many of you think she’s been endowed with special evil powers, but not even Hillary Clinton can retroactively change votes she made years before she received speaking fees, so I’m afraid you’re going to have to give that part of the allegations up. Fortunately, you still have the fact that she accepts money from superpacs.
There must be something wrong with me because I’m not terribly bothered by that. Maybe it’s because however much is being raised on her behalf by arch corporate villains like George Soros, there’s ten times that amount being raised against her by other corporate interests. If she’s really in the pocket of corporate America why have they spent so much money over the years trying to defeat her? I’m sure many of you will think it’s just another diabolical Clinton plot to make her look more progressive than she is, but then we already established the beating my head against a brick wall aspect to this post.
And as long as I’m tilting at windmills I might as well go whole hog and say that Hillary killed it at last night’s Nevada town hall. I don’t know how it will turn out on Saturday, but last night that room was her’s. She was responsive, insightful, and full of fire. Most of all, she was completely relatable, something cranky, defensive and quite frankly, tired looking Bernie was not. I wasn’t surprised when she got a standing ovation or that the audience mobbed her for selfies after the town hall was over. Of course what do I know, I’ve obviously been brainwashed by those nefarious Clintons.
