For all the talk about Bernie wanting money out of politics, he outspent Hillary 2:1 in January, and that doesn’t count the extra superpac money from the the Nurses PAC and Republican PACS.
This trend is reportedly true through Nevada, where Bernie again outspent her 2:1.
So far, Hillary is 2:1 in victories though, and now is winning the elected delegate count.
Hillary is beating the big money in politics. She is doing it by hard work, by strength of resolve, of letting her character shine through the barrage of mud slung at her by Bernie and Republicans.
It may surprise you, but this is not the first time. In winning her first senate election, she had to overcome a 2:1 spending gap in the most expensive Senate election in US history. And she had to do against two successive opponents, as Giuliani dropped out when it was clear he could not win to let a second republican, Lazio, have another swing at her.
Money flowed in from Republicans all around the country to oppose her. Giuliani paid for 300+ page opposition document to be written against her, covering her whole life.
Though Giuliani led her for a while, he dropped out when she recovered to lead him. All of Giuliani’s personal attacks came back in his face, as often happened with the Clinton’s attackers. Lazio’s attempt to intimidate her on stage at a debate backfired in a hilarious manner, as she did not flinch at his demanding of papers to be signed.
Just like now, demands are made for her to unilaterally disarm in campaign money. Just like now, her opponents were hoping for ginned up scandals to crush her. Whitewater, Travelgate, and Filegate all had their reports strategically released in the run up to the election, and though none found evidence of anything indictable, all did their best to smear her with innuendo of corruption.
Hillary Clinton wins against big money. Hillary wins against bogus government scandals. Hillary wins against endless slander.
That is what a victorious political revolutionary looks like.
