Before she left for school this morning, Mackenzie made me promise I would cook Shepherd’s Pie for supper. It’s one of her favorites and I’m all about keeping the kids happy.
Later this morning she texted her Mom, saying she wouldn’t be home for supper because she was driving to Tulsa to see Bernie. She just walked in talking sixteen to the dozen, having been in the presence of, and quite close to, the man who needs to be our next President.
Mack is seventeen. She will not be old enough to vote in the Primary because Oklahoma doesn’t allow that (22 States do), but she will be eighteen before election day.
This will be her first. She is an Okie through and through, and she is engaged in the process.
We need so many more Mackenzies, and I hope we get them.
She has a potty-mouth. I hope you can forgive her … I already have!
I guess I’m making Shepherd’s Pie tomorrow instead.
