And the mass shooting of the day is in Mason County, Washington.
That’s right boys and girls, yesterday’s rampage in Kansas had not even cleared the 24-hour news cycle hurdle when another mass shooting occurred.
According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, today in Mason County, a man shot and killed four people before turning the gun on himself. According to the paper, two of the victims are reportedly children.
Police responded with a SWAT team, and a hostage negotiator attempted to bring the episode to an end without further bloodshed. However, it is reported that the man exited the home in which he was barricaded and shot himself in front of police.
A third child, a twelve-year-old girl, survived and was removed from the scene by police, according to the Seattle Times.
Mason County is located on the southeastern corner of the Olympic Peninsula.
