I don’t want this diary to give the wrong impression: I’m an HRC supporter who is very happy about this win but I’m not spiking the football, we have at least Super Tuesday and more states into late March and the race is NOT over.
That said, if this trend holds HRC will be the democratic nominee and Bernie will not, though he will go down as one of the most impressive come from behind underdogs in history and that IS exciting.
My plea is this, let’s fight for a a little while longer. Fight clean and on the issues and that goes for both sides but if it becomes clear, as it seems to be, that HRC will be the winner, can we again please become a place dedicated to electing democrats and defeating the dangerous xenophobe Trump.
As a Latino and former illegal immigrant, I have friends that are in fear of his presidency and when I hear Bernie supporters saying they’ll stay home, well, I think about those people who don’t have the luxury of allowing a Trump presidency because it could literally destroy their lives.
I’ll end on this, Bernie is a great man. He’s not my chosen candidate, but I respect him and his movement and want his supporters to keep challenging HRC.
But let’s begin to unite, if not tonight, soon?
You are all great and this is democracy in action, let’s be grateful for that.
