No Bernie visits today or tomorrow and the election is Tuesday. Bill Clinton will be in Dallas on Monday.
Bernie Sanders has had a fairly large campaign presence in Texas since last Fall. Some paid staff since December, I believe. In Denton County we distributed thousands of bumper stickers for Bernie. Yesterday in Austin and Dallas 17,000 supporters came to Bernie rallies.
The Clinton campaign has been strangely inactive, hiring just a few weeks ago a state wide manager. The north Texas paid staff came on board the first of the month, but have seemingly done little more than send some emails to the Democratic County Chair Persons. The Denton County Democratic Chair has told me that Hillary Clinton has had virtually no organizational activity to speak of here. Hillary Clinton has been in Texas, but that was a private fund raiser in Houston.
What does it all mean? Last poll showed Hillary Clinton ahead by ten points state wide a couple of weeks ago. Democratic early vote state wide seems up, but not all the counties have reported. But, in a state that elected Rafael Edward Cruz to the US Senate it just shows anything can happen!!
