Sometimes when you get a bright guy like Ted Cruz, who has pondered policy issues before, you get a guy who is not shy to speak his mind, such is the case with Ted in this vid. I’m sorry, it’s so good I don’t want to give it away. Just click on the vid and scroll on up to the 1:20 point. It’s only 30 seconds. Great acoustics and what I like is that it’s so unambiguous, guy speaks his mind.
I read a web site that is 75% Republican one way or another. That’s how they broke out recently on a presidential poll. The purpose and general discussion on the site is not politics. None the less I read comments like this.
“Truth is we have had a Demo president for the last 8 years, and actually have expanded firearms rights. Don't buy into the all or nothing Right wing paranoia.
I actually vote conservative too. Just like Xxx, Public Lands, are a cold dead fingers issue with me”
or this
“I'm much less worried about a democratic president and republican congress coming for my guns than a republican president and republican congress coming for my lands.”
or this
“I will NOT vote for that man, even if it means another democratic president. I've told him as much in several emails addressing public lands.”
and
“He'll never get my vote”.
Of the fifty or so comments so far one says he’ll vote for Cruz if he is the nominee for social issues which are more important to that commenter (abortion), others say they are multi issue voters but public lands just tips the scales too far.
On a scale of 1 to 100 I’d rate both Dem candidates at about 90. Both pretty good but both have some obvious failings. The Republicans, if you totally forgot ideology, and just rated them on electability are not doing very well. And bear in mind, I don’t listen to any of the typical DK bs. All that demonisation does nothing for me. This country voted for George W and Reagan,,, twice.
I just don’t know how many times the Republican candidates can touch on different portions of the electorate with these cold dead hands type issues. My hope is that there is a large enough “I’m not voting for anyone” that the senate swings D. I’m beginning to get psyched to GOTV.
