It could not be any clearer in the Massachusetts General Laws. Campaigning within 150 feet of a polling station, or in any way interfering with the right to vote. Choosing the critical battleground state of Massachusetts, Bill Clinton and the Mayor of Boston Marty Walsh should immediately be subject to arrest and prosecution. Clinton and the mayor were not only electioneering within the boundary. Although the spokesperson for “I never had sexual relations with that woman” Bill Clinton denies that he was ever inside a polling place, photos and video show him clearly greeting and talking up election workers inside.
Brian McNiff, spokesperson for Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin, when asked whether Clinton’s presence would constitute a solicitation, told the Boston Globe:
“He’s a well known person. And he’s a spouse of a candidate,” McNiff said. “That should answer the question.”
Thus a preliminary opinion of the state’s executive office for elections has been lodged, in essence, that Clinton indeed must know the law and has chosen to violate it. Bill Clinton does not vote in Massachusetts, and would have no other business in a polling station on election day besides campaigning for his wife.
MassLive reports that Clinton arrived at the West Roxbury polling station at 9:35 a.m., long after the polling stations had opened:
At 9:35 a.m., as a steady stream of voters headed into Holy Name Church gymnasium to vote, former President Bill Clinton arrived in an SUV.
Clinton’s visit was extended:
Clinton spent 45 minutes at the polling place in West Roxbury, his first stop of the day.
MassLive reports that Clinton visited at least four different polling places throughout the voting day.
In New Bedford, the expected appearance of the president has blocked a polling station and prevented people from voting for two hours. New Bedford, one of the poorest cities in the states, would presumably be a Sanders stronghold.
This is a call for the immediate arrest of President Bill Clinton for clear, knowing and egregious violation of the campaign laws to swing an election in a significant way.
