The media is trying to make a big deal out of the fact HRC won the Democratic Primary in Mississippi. Please……….. last year Robert Gray a man no one had heard of because he did no campaigning and who treated putting his name on the ballot for Governor as a joke, who didn’t even bother to vote in the primary won the Democratic Primary over a well qualified woman, Vickie Slater. Leaving us stuck with Republican Governor Phil Bryant for another 4 years, because Robert Gray couldn’t be bothered to campaign in the General Election either.
No one really knows why he won, all sorts of reasons have been put forth from his name was first on the ballot to the voters in Mississippi are sexist and voted for the only male running for Governor in the Democratic Primary. Another reason of course could be that Mr. Gray is African American and he was running against two white women. Since most of the voters in the Democratic Primary are African American, it’s possible that racism played a part in his election. The fact is no one knows why Mr. Gray won, but it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in the decision making of the voters in the Mississippi Democratic Primary.
Bernie actually didn’t do that bad in Mississippi considering his campaign in Mississippi was very low key. Bernie Sanders was awarded 4 of Mississippi’s delegates. And of course the big news no one is talking about Bernie Sanders won Michigan.
Also if we do a reality check in the General Election Mississippi votes Republican. So if you are a Democrat your campaign is in real trouble if you are depending on Southern States that vote Republican in the General Election, maybe you are the one that’s unelectable Hillary.
The DNC needs to stop being obtuse the voters want Bernie Sanders, there were young white and black people voting in the Democratic primaries for the first time ever in Mississippi voting for Bernie Sanders to give him his 4 delegates. He also has the support of us older folks too, including a 95 Year-Old WWII Vet Who Voted for Bernie Sanders Today in Mississippi. If Bernie Sanders is nominated there is a slim possibility that Mississippi will #FeeltheBern as the local Libertarians, Green Party and Independents will all get behind Bernie Sanders. The Mississippi voters are pretty much divided into 1/3 Republican, 1/3 Democrat and 1/3 Independent/Other. Traditionally that 1/3 Independent/Other has gone with the Republicans in the General Election, they certainly will not vote for Hillary but many of them will support Bernie Sanders.
