One of the things I love most about Senator Sander is, I don’t have to guess where he stands on any issue. I don’t know about you people, but that FACT is very, very important to me. With EVERY other candidate, one has to figure they are “pandering” to get votes, which one can tell by the way the candidates talk and shift their positions for their audience, as Mrs. Clinton does all the time, and has done through out her entire political career. The video evidence of this is overwhelming. She started out this presidential campaign as a moderate, and today, she is now a progressive. I’m sorry but Mrs. Clinton has NEVER been progressive, and no where in the record is that true.
Mrs. Clinton has made it a big deal that Senator Sanders isn’t “polling” well with the AA, and has used surrogates like civil rights icon John Lewis to throw doubt about Senator Sanders commitment to civil rights and racial justice. It was disheartening to see Mr. Lewis say the things he did, but I won’t throw him under the bus so to speak, except to say I’m disappointed in him. He’s a politician and has to do what a politician has to do.
As MotherJones Reported in Feb:
Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), the progressive icon who led the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) during the civil rights movement, on Thursday dismissed Sen. Bernie Sanders' participation in that movement.
When a reporter asked Lewis to comment on Sanders' involvement in the movement—Sanders as a college student at the University of Chicago was active in civil rights work—the congressman brusquely interrupted him. "Well, to be very frank, I'm going to cut you off, but I never saw him, I never met him," Lewis said. "I'm a chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee for three years, from 1963 to 1966. I was involved in the sit-ins, the freedom rides, the March on Washington, the march from Selma to Montgomery, and directed their voter education project for six years. But I met Hillary Clinton. I met President Clinton."
I know this is “old” news, but I think it is exceptionally important. Maybe Mr. Lewis didn’t see him because Senator Sanders was chained to a black woman and then arrested and sent to jail, as Killer Mike points out in this very emotional clip.
I want you to stop and think about this for a few moments. Notice the YUGE difference in how Senator Sander, vs Mrs. Clinton, in how each handled the disruption by protesters during their respective speaking engagements. I find it interesting that at the speaking event where Senator Sanders was speaking, it was a free event and he let them do their thing. On the other hand, Mrs. Clinton’s reaction was to have security throw them out, after they had PAID $500 to be there. And then the remarks by the people attending the event was just disgusting. It was exceptionally disrespectful, and displayed just how much Black Ties Matter more to Hillary than Black Lives Do!
Look, I don’t want to tell you who to vote for, but only want to help set the record straight with all the “artful smears”, and outright lies, that are being thrown around, and most specifically at Senator Sanders. All is fair in love and war as they say, and politics is a war of ideas. Senator Sanders idea’s are simply better for our country. Senator Sanders has not had to evolve over the years on the issues, he’s been light years ahead of the issues, which I wrote about months ago.
Mrs. Clinton likes to say all the time the her record is clear, well that it is if you’re willing to actually review it, objectively. You see, while Senator Sanders was being arrested while chained to a black woman protesting segregation, where was Hillary?
The following video documents Hillary Rodham Clinton's career of right-wing politics, political posturing, and opportunism. Hillary Clinton described herself as a 'Goldwater Girl' through college, saying her views were neither liberal nor conservative. She went on to serve on the anti-union board of directors at Walmart, where they relied on slave labor of young girls in third world countries to keep prices cheap. Hillary drew controversy after she became the Democratic Senator from New York, siding with Republican on issues from gay rights, to NAFTA, to the war in Iraq. Today, Hillary Clinton describes herself as both a 'moderate' and 'progressive' and has flip-flopped to the left on nearly every issue one can imagine. Featuring: Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, Mike Gravel, Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges, Scott Ritter, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader, and Chris Matthews.
The record is CLEAR, Senator Sanders has been on the right side of history, of the issues and of the people, his entire life.
GO BERNIE!
