The first woman president!
I grew up in a conservative household in the South and by the grace of God, I was born gay and escaped a life of Trumpism.
I became a Democrat because of Bowers V. Hardwick which was decided when I was 25 and the horrible plague of AIDS. Not that the Democrats gave two shits about me, at least they didn't hate me.
Back then I looked forward to the day a cure would come. I lost too many friends to count. That's really the only thing I looked forward to. I really didn't see any light at the end of the tunnel with respect to equal rights.
Fast forward to now and we have PrEP, we have marriage equality, we have a black president and now we will have a woman president!
I know I sound like an old man talking about going to school in 6 feet of snow (oh if only) but as I sit here in an Indian casino eating my gumbo it just hit me how damn far we have come as a people and nation. It's really quite remarkable to think about.
I feel for the Berns but tonight we are on the precipice of a truly wonder event. Let's celebrate and come together… a truly great nation and wonderful time to be alive! A time of which my brothers long since passed could not imagine!?
