Donald Trump “could shoot somebody and not lose voters.” While Trump has yet to cap someone, he keeps committing what should be political suicide only to get stronger. And I have not even mentioned the KKK, the “big, beautiful wall” which the Mexicans will be paying for, comments about Fiorina’s face, Megyn’s period or Trump’s announcement that he would date Ivanka if she wasn’t his daughter. If the past is prologue to the future, shooting someone would give Trump a bump.
Anti-establishment is not a republican or democratic thing, it’s has become a very strong American need. The Tea Party’s success was based on people’s desperate need to find a politician, someone, who wasn’t selling us out to big business and screwing us. It has become crystal clear that politicians, bought on the cheap, are playing a populist tune while allowing us to be raped by big business. Sorry Obama, the last eight years has really been more of the same despite Shepard Fairey’s “Change” poster. The bottom 99%, republicans, democrats, Americans, all want something other than retreads which call themselves candidates. This pathetic promise to fight for the small guy, help the middleclass and a litany of antidotes about Mary Joe of Wisconsin now has come face to face with a rich history of ignored promises and the banker notes sitting in some PAC account.
This year we have the real-deal in Trump. And in case you didn’t get the memo, the ruling class advertises, every 15 minutes, that Trump is not in their club – he really is an outsider. Big donors and their politician lapdogs are literally establishing a PAC to advertise his outsiderness. While the wonks will delineate between republicans and democrats, Americans are no longer that stupid and understand that this ruling class cares little about political delineation and only about electing class members. Many independents, most republicans and even some democrats will vote Trump. Minorities will remember the multitude of broken democrat promises and very likely welcome a true outsider.
So Hilary, who will win the nomination, has a very big problem – there is no candidate who is more of an insider. Hilary’s message suggests that she was president for 8 years under Bill and another 8 years under Obama. While some candidates merely attach their cart to one former president, Hilary has gone for the two-for and is thus, the self-proclaimed ultimate insider with a Big Business Based PAC to prove it. Hilary can deliver her soul wrought antidotes until she is blue in the face, she can pepper her backdrops with as many people of color and Latinos as the stage will hold, she can drone on about the embattled middleclass, education, healthcare, etc. and yet, she fails to realize this is the same speech we have suffered from both sides for the last 50 years. And America knows that NOTHING has changed unless you are talking about the deteriorating lives for the bottom 99%.
The only other bonafide candidate, who could possibly really talk about change, is Bernie Sanders. I’m not endorsing Sanders but he is the opposite of Hilary and the only candidate which is Trump’s outsider equal. Equal in the sense we know he isn’t a bought and paid for member of the ruling class and he means what he says. When this race narrows down to Trump and Hilary, the Republican Ruling Class is going to remind us, every day & twice on Sundays, that Trump is an outsider. And as Trump correctly notes, as an outsider, he could shoot someone and his followers will still vote for him. America has no idea what Trump will do but we know exactly what the Republican and Democrat Ruling Parties will do. Few people out there can stomach another term of this crap and despite his craziness, misogyny, racism, narcissism, lack of leadership and outright ugliness, none of us has the stomach for another insider with a PAC. Thus, if it isn’t Bernie Sanders it is going to be Trump. Hilary can say and do whatever she wants, Americans have heard it, seen it, and are no longer buying it.
Get ready, it will be “President Trump.”
