You know, at this point it is painfully obvious to all: the Golden State Warriors with their 66-7 record led by Stephen Curry and his 30+ point per game scoring average simply have to step aside and concede the championship to the San Antoinio Spurs.
As all true, pure basketball fans know, what Curry and the Warriors do is simply not pure basketball, unlike the Spurs. The Warriors have changed their game repeatedly over the years, from being a run & gun team with no defense, to being a defense minded team with 90s style offense, to this team now which tries to be all things to all people (defensive, offensive, three-point shooting, passing, I mean can they just commit to one basketball issue here and stick with it?).
The Spurs on the other hand, well, for years you know just what the Spurs will give you. Team basketball where everyone is fully involved, led by old guys like Tim Duncan (Duncan must be as old as that guy Sanders running for POTUS now, right?). They have always played team ball, with crisp passing, solid defense, and they always will. I always know JUST who the Spurs are.
Now I know, I know, the Warriors have a big lead on the Spurs, and that the Warriors even clobbered the Spurs by 30 points in February, but by god, the Spurs won that last game in San Antonio against them, and yea, sure they lost a couple more after that and the Warriors keep winning all kinds of games in all kinds of venues, but you know, who are they really, and can you trust them to be the team that will really pull it out in the playoffs against those teams from the East?
And Curry, well, I think we have to lobby the writers to change their votes. They are just totally in the can for him — it is Curry, Curry, Curry all the time. What about Kawai Leonard? He is a great player, he plays the game right, he is so consistent. I think we all need to phone, email, and stalk the sports writers because it just is ridiculous that Curry is in the lead simply because he has scored the most points and drawn the most attention from other teams since Michael Jordan. He has not been consistent! Last season he only scored 24 points per game, and this season he is over 30! Inconsistent!
The time to act is now my friends! Polls of some fans and Charles Barkley show that the Spurs are the ONLY team with a chance to beat those teams from the East like the Cavaliers! Get out there! Ignore those numbers from Curry and the Warriors! The landscape totally favors the Spurs going forward!
