The “Party of No” has reached its finality.
Single mindedness has always been a trait for those weak of thought and leadership. This concept was not born overnight … no, it has a much deeper root than that. The festering wound goes back to the original NEOCON roots of Reagan. His proclamation of “I am from the government and I am here to help” has become entrenched in a failing ideology and unfortunately has managed to drag America farther and farther to the right.
For eight years the “Party of No” has had one goal, to stop any progressive idea from becoming reality. With this hardline stand they have managed to do something that no progressive could have ever done … they have shined a spotlight on Washington DC and the corporate media. For this we should thank them.
Think about it. By proclaiming government is the problem yet spending your entire career collecting a paycheck from Uncle Sam is not only hypocritical but illuminating. You have spent eight years (or longer) breaking the institution until it finally stops functioning. Is it any wonder why a NY business man named Trump is now leading your party?
No is Contagious
For the better part of three decades “the party” has had one platform, that tax cuts for the wealthy would “trickle-down” through the economy. And for the better part of three decades the middle class engine has got smaller and smaller because of this failed theory. Saying “no” to any other economic plan was their trademark. Now “the party” has been panicked into a new No! No to Trump.
The right wing base is unhappy because they haven’t got their Utopian dream of privatized, non union, anti-choice, permanent war and they are angry and motivated. So much so that they have pushed an even farther right wing candidate to head the party establishment.
Corporate Media Says No
Years of the right screaming about the liberal media should make clear now to them that the countries cable news outlets are corporate controlled. For years FAUX never even tried to deny it but now its hard not to take notice on ALL the outlets. MSNBC tried to copy FAUX programming only flipped to the left, and CNN has jumped on the “party of No” bandwagon. Every one of the MSM outlets has been drilled down to one unifying voice … No to Trump. When its not time for the NY billionaire then its all Hillary, all the time.
For years there has been accusations that the media picks the candidates the country votes on and this year its on the big screen.
Make no mistake Hillary is the last bastion for the establishment as the right has tried everything to push out another candidate their voters will have none of it. Expect more of Hillary being shoved down the voters proverbial throats as the right will finally capitulate that Trump cannot be stopped.
The Populist Say Yes
While there are many reasons people come up with for choosing one candidate over another. One thing has become clear, like Occupy, the establishment fears the possibility of losing control, and will pull out all the stops to make sure a bought-and-paid-for candidate takes center stage.
The voters from both sides have rejected “more of the same” can-kicking. This is why Trump and Bernie will ultimately rise as the nominees. As the polls indicate Bernie beats all comers. The right will never support Hillary and while she has impressive credentials is too polarizing to find any common ground.
If there is one message in all this, reject the status quo. While imperfect, government can be the engine to accomplish some things. Do not let the media choose for you and a candidate that takes large donations has always had to repay that support.
