Isn’t this the way of it? Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley faces scandal after sexually explicit recordings of him talking to an aide about their relationship surfaced … and of course the female aide is the one giving up her job:
Rebekah Caldwell Mason announced her resignation in a statement sent by the governor's office, saying she would no longer serve as Bentley's senior political adviser and would no longer be paid by his campaign fund or work for a nonprofit organization formed to promote the his agenda.
Bentley does face pressure to resign, as well as some impeachment talk. But he’s hanging on:
“I have no intentions of resigning,” said Mr. Bentley, a Republican in his second term. “My intentions are to try to make this state better. My intentions are to try to work through all the difficulties that we’re going through.”
Sure.
